Quality Water of Aptos is a locally owned, clean and friendly water store just outside Aptos Village. Our mission is to provide a “community watering hole” — a pleasant and professional place to pick up your drinking water. We offer the highest quality, best-tasting water in town, as well as installation and maintenance of Reverse Osmosis systems in homes and businesses.
IN-HOUSE WATER TESTING SERVICES
We offer in-store or on-site water testing services for city water or well water.
In-store:
Cost is $25 per sample tested/per test disc used.
We can test right in the store for up to 10 contaminants + total dissolved solids!
The customer brings sample(s) to us in store. For each test, bring 6 oz. of water in a small jar or container.
Field Testing:
Cost is $125 minimum trip charge to site + $25 per sample tested/per test disc used.
We gather & test samples on site and can field test for up to 10 contaminants + total dissolved solids!
We also offer full-service full panel well water testing. Prices are as quoted.
A CITY WATER test includes:
Free Chlorine - the amount of chlorine available in the water to sanitize contaminants
Combined Chlorine - the amount of chlorine that has already combined with contaminants in the water (aka chloramines)
Total Chlorine - the sum of Free & Combined
pH - the measure of the equilibrium state between acid and base in the solution. Neutral is 7.0
Total Alkalinity - PPM of total dissolved alkali, telling us the buffering capacity of the water to resist change in pH
Total Hardness Grains per Gallon - Total hardness (calcium)
Total Iron
Copper
A WELL WATER test includes:
pH - the measure of the equilibrium state between acid and base in the solution. Neutral is 7.0
Total Alkalinity - PPM of total dissolved alkali, telling us the buffering capacity of the water to resist change in pH
Total Hardness Grains per Gallon - Total hardness (calcium)
Ferrous Iron - Dissolved, but becomes ferric when exposed to oxygen
Ferric Iron - Insoluble, particulate
Total Iron
Copper
Nitrate
Nitrite
NOTE: IF A PRIVATE WATER SOURCE (SURFACE OR WELL) IS SUSPECTED OF BEING CONTAMINATED, A PROPER WATER SAMPLE MUST BE TAKEN AND A CERTIFIED LABORATORY MUST PERFORM A COMPLETE MICROBIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS.

REAL ESTATE & MORTGAGE UNDERWRITING COMPLIANCE TESTING
As a professional, impartial third-party specializing in the water business, we are qualified to conduct the water tests that many mortgage companies require before they will underwrite a loan.
We have direct connections with local qualified laboratories who can do bacteria (total coliform, e-coli), lead, nitrate, nitrite, iron, manganese and total dissolved solid testing.
We can also conduct and facilitate full Title 22 tests if required.
